‘What’s a Gardener’s party?’ I hear you ask? Well, it is a very simple concept that allows you and your guests to show off your green thumbs. Many people today who have a little bit of garden space take a shot at growing their own produce. So, essentially the concept of a Gardener’s party is two-fold: first, you and your guests grow your best veggies or fruits and then you use them to make your most impressive party dishes.This kind of party may be more appropriate in rural areas based on the homegrown nature, but it can still be fun in more urban settings. The level of homegrown influenced ingredients may vary from a few veggies to perhaps home-cured meats or other proteins. Some guests may be avid hunters or actually keep their own animals so meat, eggs or even fresh milk might be viable for your party menu. You are only limited by what your guests dabble in but no matter what this party gives you all a chance to show off your growing and cooking skills.
Oh, and by the way, if you have friends who don’t grow anything at all you can still invite them. They can bring store bought stuff this time, but perhaps for the next party they will have been inspired to try their hand at something too. Just imagine the sharing of knowledge that will take place as guests talk about growing techniques and cooking styles, it will be a gourmet party paradise.
